[edit] Blood Fractions Guide Project Guidelines

The following are guidelines and objectives for producing our Blood Fractions Guide. Feel free to comment freely.

[edit] Project Aim and Goal

  • Need to define the reason for this project
  • Need to clearly describe our audience - who are we doing this for?
    • As we write and edit keeping in mind who we are speaking to will help us avoid the use of esoteric (intended for or understood by only an initiated few) terms
  • Need to set milemarkers on road to completion
    • For example which fractions are most important and should be published first?

[edit] Create a Master List of Blood Fractions

  • A-Z list of products made from blood
    • This is necessary to track progress and show the scope of the project
  • Prioritize the project
    • Patients face the decision whether to accept albumin more often than platelet gel. Albumin might be considered as a priority. By setting project goals based on priority our efforts will be more effective and focused.

[edit] To Link or to Create an Article

  • When to LINK to outside source
    • Generic definition is adequate
  • When to CREATE an internal article
    • When generic definition isn't well suited. For example, a definition of albumin may be too esoteric for our needs.
