NoBlood:About
From NoBlood
NoBlood is a community where peers share knowledge about transfusion alternatives and blood management.
NoBlood was founded in 1996 and as of June 2005 has been largely based around a forum. As of 1/22/2008, we have registered members over 7,500 with over 3,300 'thread' conversations containing over 6,500 messages. In order to better organize and continue to build on this information, we are embarking on a migration of many of our forum resources over to this wiki environment. Please join our efforts to build this comprehensive transfusion alternatives and blood management knowledge base as a readily available resource for all.
[edit] Our Mission
Worldwide concern over the safety, availability and cost of donor blood compels Bloodless Healthcare International (BHI) to provide NoBlood.org, a forum to investigate, discuss and report the latest techniques in transfusion alternatives and blood management.
We seek to achieve this in the following four ways:
- To Educate by means of a user built and maintained blood management knowledge base of professional expertise and evidence-based trends.
- To Prepare individuals for medical emergencies.
- To Collaborate among health care organizations, dedicated professionals and the general public to advance blood conservation and avoidance strategies.
- To Globalize by adapting and preparing information for international needs.
The success of our mission is due to the collective participation of people like you.
Please direct any feedback or questions to Larry Eitel, Executive Director and Webmaster.
