Plasma is a straw-colored fluid consisting of 90% percent water and accounting for about 55% of the blood volume in which the cells and cell fragments are suspended. It is the transporter of nutrients and carries away wastes throughout the body. Dissimilar compounds including proteins, electrolytes, carbohydrates, minerals, and fats, are dissolved in it.
