[edit] Terminology questions

  • What is Bloodless Healthcare International?
This is the name of the non-profit corporation that oversees our efforts.LarryEitel 5 July 2005 20:48 (CDT)
  • Also the terms bloodless, blood conservation and blood avoidance are used. Perhaps there needs to be a defining article on the terminology including blood management and how these terms are related and in some instances interchangeable. I would also suggest a standardization by picking and using one universal term.
From a lay person's perspective, Blood Management deals with how to manage blood. Blood conservation and avoidance seem to more clearly state and describe our mission. LarryEitel 5 July 2005 20:48 (CDT)
  • Is knowledge base two words and I am not familiar with the term adaptating. Could this be adapting?
yes, knowledge base is two words. I have also seen knowledge-base. I revised MS for now by making it two words. LarryEitel 5 July 2005 20:48 (CDT)
Adapt means: To make suitable to or fit for a specific use or situation. Is there a better way to express this? LarryEitel 5 July 2005 20:48 (CDT)

[edit] Terminology Definitions

If the intended audience is people working in bloodless medicine, then the guide is fine as it is. It is an excellent reference. If the intended audience is lay people, then some terms need to be defined, such as "bovine," "coagulopathy," and "topical agent." I don't even know if "coagulopathy" is included in non-medical dictionaries, but having to read anything with dictionary in hand can be a pain.Liz Crum 7 July 2005 09:56 (CDT)

[edit] Blood Fraction Guide

Not quite sure of the purpose of this question. It seems like a duplication or too similar to the first one.

What is the percent of blood fraction used in these compounds?
